Our story

We followed the Silk Road to fix Indian skin.

Silk Route began with a simple frustration: nothing on the shelf was formulated for the skin we actually have. Ayurveda reached for the wrong fats. K-beauty was built for another climate. So we went back to the trade routes, 6,400 km and 1,500 years, to find the botanicals that actually repair the barrier, and proved them in a modern lab.

The insight the category kept missing

Indian skin is born comparatively short on linoleic acid, the fat that seals the barrier and keeps water in. Most routines pile on occlusive oils that sit on top and clog, or actives that strip an already-thin barrier. We built one formula that restores the missing fat first, then hydrates and evens tone on top of a barrier that can finally hold.

We name every origin. Each botanical is single-sourced from the region that perfected it, then third-party tested on arrival. The finest ingredients were never owned by one country; they were shared along a route, and we honour the trail back to it.
